ReDefine Arts looks forward to presenting DIGITAL STORIES: Building Cultures of Consent, an online showcase of digital art connected to our rural Ontario arts projects, the Countdown Public Art Project (2015 - ongoing) and the Renfrew County Inquest Public Art Response (2022). Both projects are rooted in action to end gender-based violence through art-making and community-building, and the Renfrew County Inquest Public Art Response is a direct response to the 2015 femicide of three women in the Ottawa Valley region and the Coroner of Ontario’s Inquest into this tragedy that took place this past June.

Offered as part of both Countdown and RCI Public Art Response community-engagement activities, Elder & Storykeeper Roberta Della-Picca hosted Fireside Chats: conversations, audio-recorded with participant consent, which include discussion about participants' experience with the project/s and reflections on personal and community impact. Audio recordings from these fireside chats have been shaped into videos that bring alive the people and places working to build cultures of consent in their communities.

This online showcase will also serve as the official premiere of our new Countdown Story website! The Countdown Story website is an online project, home to audio, photos & videos, with a focus on the conversations, writing, art, and relationships generated over the past many years of the Countdown project and the Renfrew County Inquest Public Art Response.
