Beloved Remembered invites older adults in the Ottawa Valley to transform life stories into handmade books.
What to Expect
Beloved Remembered unfolds over seven creative workshops where storytelling, handmade book arts, and conversation come together in a welcoming and supportive environment. Each gathering offers opportunities to reflect on the people, places, traditions, and experiences that have shaped our lives through guided conversation, personal reflection, creative writing, and simple book arts techniques.
As the series progresses, participants create a handmade accordion book that brings together words, images, and personal memories in a unique and meaningful way. Those who wish may also choose to record a personal story, creating another way to preserve and share their experiences.
No previous artistic experience is necessary. Whether you've spent a lifetime making art or are exploring your creativity for the first time, you'll find a welcoming space to create, connect, and share. All materials are provided, and participation is free.
The workshops celebrate the many ways people tell stories and recognize that every life experience has value.

The Beloved Remembered workshop series takes place in Killaloe, Ontario on:

- Wednesday, October 28, 2026 from 2:00–4:00 PM
- Wednesday, November 11, 2026 from 2:00–4:00 PM
- Wednesday, November 25, 2026 from 2:00–4:00 PM
- Wednesday, December 9, 2026 from 2:00–4:00 PM
- Wednesday, January 6, 2027 from 2:00–4:00 PM
- Wednesday, January 20, 2027 from 2:00–4:00 PM
The project concludes with the Beloved Remembered Community Feast & Exhibition on February 19, 2027. The exhibition is an opportunity to honour and celebrate the creativity, generosity, and stories that have been shared throughout the project.
