During 12 art workshops in Fred Johnson Park, we explored hospitality and when and how we feel welcome to the table through conversation and collaborative art making including mosaic, creative writing, storytelling, and textile printing and weaving. To the Table is inspired by artist Lois Weaver’s performance The Long Table that combines theatricality and models for public engagement, and the principles of Universal Design that advances design and environments that can be accessed, understood, and used to the greatest extent possible by all people.
To the Table culminated in a multidisciplinary art event that showcased the outcomes of our gatherings and creative explorations with Scarborough Village residents during the summer of 2018.
