Artists Anna Camilleri and Tristan R. Whiston met with clients, staff, and board members of Central Toronto Youth Services to explore what CTYS means to those who are connected with it.

Through conversation, brainstorming and sketching, motifs and themes were discovered including: growth and transformation, pathways, safety, connection, community, intersectionality / multiplicity, relationships / interdependence.

Amplifying this arts-based research, the design for Connections Between Us features a river or star constellation that encompasses eight pods with the eight phases of the lunar cycle in colour combinations that reflect identity markers, and a lattice of plant rhizomes.
