The Epic Choir is looking for trans, non-binary, Two-Spirit, and gender-queer identified singers of all ranges and abilities to join our exciting new project “Trans-Pose” a project designed to further creative development and leadership amongst trans, non-binary, Two-Spirit, and gender-queer singers and musicians.

The initiative will include mentorship and guest workshops, singing, collaborative & solo composition, music arranging, and building a concert song cycle with original compositions. This initiative is funded by Toronto Arts Council Strategic Funding, Open Door program.

If you are interested in taking part, you are invited to attend upcoming sessions to meet the choir, sing along, and find out if this is a good fit!

Tryouts & Info Sessions

Dates: March 4, March 18, April 15
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Location: Diane Frankling Co-op (85 Bleecker Street)
Accessibility: Diane Frankling Co-op is a wheelchair accessible space with an all genders bathroom.
Safety: Face masks are required at all practices. The practice room is equipped with HEPA filtrations which will be on for the duration of rehearsals.

New members will be invited to join the Epic Choir’s Trans-Pose project between April 22nd and April 26th. Rehearsals will take place on Monday evenings, beginning on Monday April 29, 2024.

This Epic Choir initiative will be stewarded by a Choir Director & Lead Mentor Tristan R. Whiston and Guest Artist-Mentors, all of whom identify as trans, non-binary, Two-Spirit and/or gender-queer.

The Epic Choir is a community choir proudly composed of trans, non-binary, Two-Spirit, and gender-queer singers. The Epic Choir was formed as part of the 2023 iteration of two-time Dora Award nominated Trace, co-created by Tristan R. Whiston and Moynan King.
