Plant Life

In 2018, our affinity with the Community Arts Guild grew into an outreach partnership for To the Table, a ReDefine Arts’ 2018 summer residency project in Fred Johnson Park. We were happy to return and collaborate with the Community Arts Guild on the Plant Life project, part of their ongoing partnership with the Scarborough Village Community Garden at Fred Johnson Park.

We met with garden volunteers and other community members to produce simple design motifs that respond to the question “What else are you cultivating?” These design motifs guided the creation of small stone mosaic artworks that were temporarily installed in Fred Johnson Park, culminating in a Harvest Festival on September 18, 2021.
